 I didn't much care for this film. I felt that the main characters were too cookie-cutter, the story arc obvious and a lack of rivetting set pieces. To be fair most Pixar films aren't known for their twists but I do find that there's usually something about the characters, the way the story is told or the world is portrayed that elevates the film. I thought the end sequence was fantastic though. And I liked the first 5 minutes or so with the style of the garbage-filled earth. I think I just hated the over-simplified love story. 6/10 |

 Split into 3 discrete tales, with characters occasionally appearing in others' for coherency, the film is arresting and paints pictures of vivid characters. I was disappointed by the lack of more crossover - the moments that the characters shared made me think that there would be a neat little ending. Portraying 3 equally tortuous iterations of love makes for an arresting tale though and maybe the lack of a neat ending could be a metaphor for the messiness of love... 7.5ish/10 |

Recently, I've been looking at Elizabethan handwriting
 I found it amazing how different the 's' and 'h' were - roughly similar to how I present them above. I guess if I want my comics to be readable, attempting to adhere to the writing of a few centuries ago isn't the best choice. still... there's a lot to be said for their fluidity and the elegance of some of their strokes. |

 I need to have an animation of a dune buggy done for Friday. Given rendering time, that means I'll have to finish by early Thursday AM. I've basically yet to start because I just worry about it being a piece of shit when I'm done. Fuck that. I can do this. I'll do what I can and fuck trying to make it perfect. 50% is better than nothing. Wish me luck. Or really, more aptly, remind me to get my arse in gear. Oh, btw, once that is done, I'll be attempting some better comics (or at least spending a bit more time on them. |

 On paper, every panel had some bg - just some were subtler than others. After scanning, I had to up the darkness of everything for some bgs to even start to become visible. I think this is a lesson to not be so subtle for stuff I'm scanning in. Bolder is probably better. |
